As we all know, many countries have abolished the capital punishment. Nevertheless, in china, our country’s criminal law still contains capital punishment. Should we abolish it in a civilized society?
My answer is “no” .In my point of view, capital punishment is necessary. Although maybe a person wrongly executed, it is necessary to use capital punishment to maintain the safety of society and decrease the criminal rates.
Criminals who do not care about their actions and the consequences of their actions have no sense of right or wrong. In addition, their will make our society be an insecure society. In my opinion, if we do not use capital punishment to deterrence the criminals, some people may think that do a crime or even murder is not a serious thing. They kill people but they will not pay their life as the return of what of they have done. Maybe you will say capital punishment grave the human rights and humanitarian. I do not think a murder has the human rights because if they respect the human rights they will not kill anyone. Capital punishment will help us to reduce the criminal rates.Capital punishment is also a respect to the victims, the importance of the victims’ lives. Most victims are innocent. As we all know, in ancient china, we have an old saying “give life for life, eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.” Many murderers have serious problem and most of them have no contribution to the society. Most victims have made their own contribution to the society. Moreover, if we think the criminals have the human rights, I think the victims have the human rights too and the murders should pay for the murder or crime they had done.
In short, capital punishment is important to a country and it should not be abolished
